India pacer, Shardul Thakur, found no buyers in the Mumbai T20 league auction, held on March 3 in Mumbai.

The major reason for him going unsold is that he would be in Sri Lanka during the period when the tournament will be on.

He was one of the icon players on the list but in the end, found no buyers.

Though Rohit Sharma will also be along with him in Sri Lanka, still, he was sold to Mumbai North-West for Rs 6 Lakh in the auction.

The major reason to buy Rohit was the star factor; even if he does not play any game for his team.

He will only play a single game if his team qualifies for the final of the tournament. The grand finale will be played on March 21 and Rohit is not expected to return to India before March 16. If India qualifies for the final of tri-series, then he will arrive in India on March 19.

Aditya Tare, the captain of Mumbai Ranji team, also went unsold in the auction.

The injury which he had suffered during the DY Patil T20 Cup is the reason behind him going unsold.

He is a part of the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming season of IPL, as his former franchise bought him for an amount of Rs 20 Lakh.

Ajinkya Rahane was also sold to Mumbai North for Rs 7,00, 000 – the highest price. He is available to play the full tournament.

Suryakumar Yadav was sold to Mumbai North-East for Rs 7,00,000. He will also play the full tournament. Rahane and Suryakumar Yadav were the top buys in the auction.

The inaugural edition of the T20 league will be played from March 11 to 21 at the Wankhede Stadium. The tournament will see star coaches being associated with the team as well.

Amol Muzumdar, Vinod Kambli, Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Lalchand Rajput, Sameer Dighe are associated with various teams as mentors.
