Kings XI Punjab has received positive news about their pace spearhead, Sheldon Cottrell, ahead of their crucial game against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Sharjah. Sheldon Cottrell missed the last match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi that they lost by two runs. Kings XI Punjab have lost six out of their seven fixtures thus far and need to win their remaining ones to stay in contention for a playoffs spot.
Sheldon Cottrell, who shares the new-ball with Mohammed Shami, had a groin injury that forced him to miss Kings XI Punjab’s seventh match. England’s paceman Chris Jordan replaced him and bowled four overs for 37 runs without a wicket. Kings XI Punjab skipper KL Rahul claimed that the groin injury might make Cottrell miss a couple of fixtures. The 31-year old rapidly recovered from the same and also attended the evening’s training session and bowled a bit in the nets.

Fortunately for KL Rahul, veteran batsman Chris Gayle has also recovered from a stomach bug and should be available to play against RCB. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore are on a roll as they have emerged victorious in five out of seven games. They also won their last match in Sharjah, beating Kolkata Knight Riders by a comprehensive 82 runs.
