India’s southpaw opener Shikhar Dhawan gave his congratulations to his opening partner Rohit Sharma after he became a father. Rohit Sharma had become a father on 31 December. Subsequently, he had flown back to India to be with his wife and new-born baby. Rohit has named her daughter as Samaira.

However, the right-hander had to miss out in the final and fourth Test match at Sydney Cricket Ground. The flamboyant batsman had scored a good knock of 63 innings in the third Test match at MCG.

Furthermore, Rohit Sharma was at his absolute best in the first One-Dayer against Australia. However, his brilliant knock of 133 runs from only 129 balls went in vain as India lost the match by 34 runs.

Rohit had batted at the top of his game in the opener of the series. However, he didn’t receive support from the other end and was the lone warrior in the match.

On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan shared a laugh about Rohit Sharma in the pre-match press conference. Dhawan said, “What about, Rohit, yes he has become a father. Batting’s father or normal father?. In fact, he has become a father in both”, Dhawan said while sharing a laugh.

“Firstly I am very happy that Rohit Sharma has become a father, I am happy for him and his wife, Ritika. Of course, he is very happy and I am sure he is going to be great father”.

Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan gave a brisk start to the Indian team in the second ODI. Dhawan scored a quickfire knock of 32 runs off just 28 balls to hit the ground running for the Men in Blue.

The series decider will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on January 18. The T20I series had tied whereas India won their maiden Test series on Australian soil. Thus, it is a perfect opportunity for the visitors to end the successful tour on a high.
