Aisi Hai Gabbar Aur Hitman Ki Yaari: Shikhar Dhawan On His Camaraderie With Rohit Sharma

‘Hitman’ Rohit Sharma and ‘Gabbar’ Shikhar Dhawan have forged an ultra-successful opening partnership for Team India down the years. While the duo has had unprecedented success on the field, away from the cricket stadium, they share an extremely great rapport.

While most cricket fans must already be aware of Shikhar and Rohit’s friendship, as they are known to spend a lot of time together off the field as well.

In fact, both Shikhar and Rohit’s wives are also known to have become good friends and the four of them have been snapped together a lot of times.

Recently, Shikhar reunited with his opening partner and he shared a picture of them on Twitter, along with a heartwarming caption.

“Yaari bhi ki yaari bhi nibhaayi… Khoob saare runs ki paari bhi nibhaayi.. Gabbar aur Hitman,” read his tweet.

Shikhar and Rohit both are recuperating from their respective injuries and meanwhile team India have opted for the pairing of Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw as openers, but they have not clicked so far.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma are the fourth highest run-scoring partnership in ODIs for India:

Explosive batsman Rohit is currently ranked at the number two in ODI rankings and while Shikhar is ranked 19th.

Together though, they rank at number four in the highest run-scoring partnerships in ODI cricket. They have played 109 innings as openers for India, scoring 4847 runs in between them.

Virat Kohli has often praised Dhawan and Rohit and whenever available, he opts for Shikhar and Rohit to do the damage up the order.

Shikhar Dhawan in-line to play for the Asia XI:

Playing for Indian in the last ODI, Shikhar suffered an injury while fielding and he has been training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to regain match fitness.

He will feature in the DY Patil T20 Tournament 2020, alongside Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

On Tuesday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the lineups for the Asia XI vs World XI match, wherein Shikhar enlisted on the roster, by the likes of Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammed Shami.

Meanwhile, the likes of Kohli and KL Rahul have also been named but they will play just one match of the two games scheduled for 18 and 21 March.
