Shikhar Dhawan Takes A 10-year-old Challenge, Shares A Picture Of Him With Rohit Sharma

Over the years, the Indian Batting Lineup has always consisted of extraordinary players. Especially, the opening combination has always been something special, as we always came across glorious players with stylish strokeplay. Of them, the current pair of Rohit Sharma-Shikhar Dhawan also sits at top of the chart alongside the crowd favourite Sachin-Sehwag pair, Sehwag-Gambhir pair to name few.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma have always shared a nice bond between them on and off the field. They have been playing for India for quite a few years now, and still going strong in limited overs version of the game.

Taking the challenge, Dhawan shared a picture of him with Rohit Sharma, which was taken a few years back and also shared a recent picture of them as well.

Shikhar Dhawan-Rohit Sharma surpasses Sachin-Sehwag record:

In the recently concluded 2nd ODI against Kiwis, both the openers,  surpassed the legendary Indian duo of Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag, as they notched up their 14th 100-run partnership. Throughout their career, Sachin and Sehwag had recorded 13 100-run partnerships among themselves.

Overall, Sharma and Dhawan are 4th in the list of maximum 100-run opening stands. The maximum was achieved by Tendulkar along with Sourav Ganguly, who both stitched 21 100-run partnerships among themselves.

Australia’s Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist are at the 2nd position in the list with 16 100-run partnerships between themselves. The West Indies duo Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes are at the third position in the list.

Going by the current form, both the individual could reach the top of the list. They are in splendid form and have got quite a few years under their belt as well to set a new benchmark.
