Shikhar Dhawan, India and Delhi Capitals opener, was once again at his imperious best during his sides’ all-important Qualifier 02 clash against SunRisers Hyderabad on Sunday.
Dhawan, who has been the cornerstone of the Delhi Capitals batting-unit, once again stood up to the grand occasion and racked up a whirlwind 50-ball 78 to help Delhi Capitals post an eventual match-winning total of 3-189 in 20 overs.
However, Shikhar Dhawan could have scored more, had he decided to challenge the on-field LBW decision given against him in the 19th over.
Interestingly, the left-hander decided against opting for DRS despite it being the penultimate over of the innings.
Yuvraj Singh, the former Indian all-rounder, took a hilarious dig on his former teammate, Shikhar Dhawan, where he asked him as to why didn’t he opt for the DRS.
“Great come back by bowlers in the last 2 overs ! Not even A single boundary scored hats off natrajan and @sandeep25a pressure game execution to the point ! @SDhawan25 man in form but naam to jatt ji hai ? how bout drs bro ? ?♂️??♂️ as usual must have forgotten ? game on #DCvSRH” Yuvraj Singh wrote on Twitter
Replying to Yuvraj Singh, Dhawan said that he thought he was absolutely plumb and it was only when he had reached the boundary line that he realized he wasn’t.
“Hahahah pajhi mainu lag gya plumb hai tah muuh chuk chal paya jadh boundary tey pahuncha tadh pata lag gya ?????” .

Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan’s 78, Marcus Stoinis all-round display, and Kagiso Rabada’s four-wicket haul has helped Delhi Capitals beat SunRisers Hyderabad and claim their spot in the 2020 IPL finals, where they will lock horns with defending champions, Mumbai Indians on November 10.
