Once again, Shivam Dube makes it into the headlines in the cricketing world. The stylish all-rounder smashed a 58-ball century for Mumbai in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy facing Karnataka. However, the century didn’t inspire Mumbai to seal the victory, as Karnataka bowlers were smart enough in sealing the victory.
Initially, it was Mumbai, who won the toss, elected to bowl first. Lokesh Rahul and Devdutt combined to smash 137 runs for the opening wicket while second wicket and third wicket fell in a quick succession of 8 runs when Devdutt and Rabada walked back to the hut.

Shivam Dube scored 118 in 67 balls:
However, Manish Pandey and Rohan Kadam looked after the middle overs, as they smashed Mumbai bowlers to all corners of the park. In the end, Krishnappa Gowtham’s 22-run cameo helped Karnataka post 312 runs on the board.

In reply to the chase, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Aditya Tare got the decent starts but failed to convert them into a big score. The number 3 batsman Siddhesh Lad too got the start but failed to convert it while Shreyas Iyer contributed only 11 runs to the team.
Just when things looked all easy for Karnataka, Shivam Dube smashed a stunning century to put Mumbai in the hunt. During his knock, he caressed 10 sixes and smashed 7 boundaries to his name. Apart from Shivam Dube, none of the batsmen even crossed the 35-run mark.

He almost sealed the game for the team but mistime Mithun on 118, which turned the tables for Karnataka. Though Shardul Thakur tried to make things happen, Mithun was brilliant for Karnataka.
For Karnataka, Mithun was the top performer with the ball, as he picked 3 wickets alongside Krishnappa Gowtham, who also bagged three wickets. Prasidh Krishna also delivered a decent spell.

Karnataka vs. Mumbai always throws up thrillers.
This time around, we won. By just 9 runs. Shivam Dube with a 118 off 67 almost stole this win from us though.

HeartBroken ? but proud of the way boys fighted it out. 10 runs was such a close margin provided we had 12 balls to go. Thats what Mumbai is known for, Showing character and Not giving up. Proud of you boys. Special mention to Shivam Dube and Dhrumil Matkar. ?

Shivam Dube has played a blinder in a 312 run chase . Top order faltered, came in at 6 and revived the chase by striking a 58 ball hundred.
That Indian debut is coming soon .#VijayHazare pic.twitter.com/EddFbTwqGp

If Hardik is not available for the limited overs leg in NZ, it would be interesting to see whether India goes back to Vijay Shankar or draft in Shivam Dube.

BCCI is the richest cricket board in the world but can’t afford a 2 camera stream also of a domestic odi game. Shivam Dube is playing an absolute blinder here and no way to watch.
