It looks like former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar is completely obsessed with India skipper Virat Kohli. Every now and then, the legendary pacer lavishes praise on Kohli and the latter deserves it too. Kohli is well ahead of others when his record across format in considered. Kohli is the only batsman in the world right now who averages more than 50 in all the three formats.

The India star is already considered as an all time great and rightly so. At just 31, he has surpassed many a record and is on-course to set plenty more as he enters what should be the peak of his career. He has redefined fitness for a batsman, and keeps pushing the bar higher as a captain.

Kohli has come a long way now – from leading the country’s U-19 team to World Cup glory back in 2008 to leading India’s charge in dominating the world of cricket in all forms of the game. His remarkable rise in the game has been really remarkable. Kohli, in fact has not made the Indian fans miss the cricket stalwarts who retired this decade.

So far, he has amassed a staggering 69 international centuries and 98 fifties across formats. He has already scored more than 20,000 international runs. The numbers are only going to increase in the coming days. Kohli’s record as captain is equally impressive. He recently led India to a world record 11 consecutive series wins at home.

No surprises then that Shoaib Akhtar is such a big fan of Kohli. And Akhtar seems to be so obsessed with Kohli that no matter what the question is, the answer from him would only be Kohli. The Pakistani legend himself gave a proof of it by hilariously calling Kohli the best bowler in the world right now.

Akhtar was having a question-answer session on Twitter when one of the fans asked him about his pick for the best bowler in the world and he picked Kohli.

Well, it looks like Akhtar has made a faux pas but only he can reveal the truth. The fans, nonetheless, enjoyed the response and had some laugh at Akhtar’s expense.
