Younis Khan should not be giving these statements: Shoaib Akhtar

The series will mark the first assignment for Younis Khan as the batting coach. He had said Pakistan to be wary of Jofra Archer but Shoaib Akhtar believes he should not be making such statements and there is no need of fearing the fast bowler.

“Younis Khan made a statement that we will have to be wary of Jofra Archer. He [Archer] is very intimidating and hits you [while bowling]. Younis Khan gives statements. He is a good man though,” Shoaib said in a YouTube video.

“There is no need to fear Jofra Archer. Younis Khan said that they will have to play a bit defensively. I don’t know if he has said this or not. He [Younis] should not be giving these statements,” the Rawalpindi Express added.

Archer has done well for England and is on a constant rise. His pace and bounce has troubled even batsmen like Steve Smith. The Barbadian has picked up 30 wickets in Tests and 23 in ODIs.
