Shoaib Malik leapfrogs Virat Kohli to become highest-scoring T20I Asian Batsman

Pakistan’s veteran batsman Shoaib Malik has leapfrogged Indian skipper Virat Kohli to become the highest-scoring Asian T20I batsman. Malik scored an unbeaten 49 off just 22 balls against Scotland to overhaul Kohli.

Consequently, Pakistan’s right-hander has 1989 runs under his belt. Thus, he is 11 runs shy of the 2000 runs mark. However, Malik will have his chance to complete 2000 T20I runs when Pakistan will lock horns with Zimbabwe and Australia. The tri-series will be played in Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile, Indian captain has 1983 runs under his bag. Therefore, Virat Kohli is 17 runs short of the 2000 T20I run mark.

Meanwhile, Pakistan was able to make a 2-0 clean sweep against Scotland. The Men in Green won the second ODI by a gargantuan margin of 84 runs. Usman Khan who scalped two wickets and gave away only four runs in his two overs was awarded the Man of the Match. Faheem Ashraf took three wickets to skittle out the hosts for a paltry 82 runs.
