The T20 World Cup tournament will go all guns blazing in Australia this October. India have not won an ICC tournament since winning the Champions Trophy in the year 2013. Since then, it has been an array of disappointments for the Indian national cricket team.
Needless to say, India will be vying to lay their hands on the coveted trophy. Meanwhile, former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris, on Tuesday, mentioned his picks for India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Speaking on Star Sports, Scott Styris has come up with two surprises for the showpiece event.

Styris has picked Shubman Gill in his team although he is yet to make his T20I debut. Shubman Gill has never even received a call-up from the Indian T20I side but has proved to be a real case of himself as a viable attacking batsman in the shortest format of the game.
His performances in the lucrative Indian Premier League serves as a testament to the fact. After surprisingly picking Shubman Gill, Styris picked attacking wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson.
While Samson has been doing incredibly well in the world’s premier tournament, IPL in the last couple of years, he still has not managed to convince the team management regarding selection. After earning a recall in November for West Indies T20I series at home, Samson didn’t get a chance to play for the team.
Ahead of the second T20I match against West Indies, Sanju Samson received a roaring response from the fans when he walked out at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, which is his hometown. Even then, he didn’t get a chance to play. His only T20I appearance came in the year 2015 when he made his debut in Zimbabwe.
