Shubmam Gill, just like Prithvi Shaw, is tipped as one of the spearheads of the Indian batting unit in years to follow. The Punjab batsman shot to fame when he emerged as the highest run-getter in India’s triumphant U-19 World Cup campaign back in 2018.

Since then, Gill’s stock has only gone up courtesy his penchant for piling up runs after runs after runs. He has been the most consistent performer for India A and also for his state team in four-day cricket.

With the onslaught of coronavirus putting a halt to the game, Gill, like others is self isolating, and on Monday, he took to Twitter to engage with his fans via Question-Answer session.

Shubman was asked a variety of questions. One fan asked him as to which retired cricket he would to bat with.

“#AskShubhman some retired player you’d have loved batting with? a fan asked Shubman Gill on Twitter.

And, Shubman Gill had no hesitation in naming Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar as someone he’d have loved batting with.

“The one and only, Sachin Tendulkar,” replied Gill.

Sachin Tendulkar recently celebrated his 47th birthday and on this momentous occassion, fans and cricketers from around the world took to their social media accounts to post heartfelt wishes for the little genius.

Tendulkar, courtesy his batting and the way he conducted himself on the cricket field has inspired a plethora of youngsters and Shubman Gill have too, in the past, revealed how the Master Blaster was a huge inspiration for him in his formative years.

Apart from this, Gill was also asked about his favorite foreign International cricketer. And, the Kolkata Knight Riders’ opener named former Australian world cup-winning captain and the current Delhi Capitals coach as his favorite.

Gill was expected to play a crucial role for his Kolkata Knight Riders’ franchise in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League. But the tournament has now been postponed indefinitely due to COVID-19.
