Smriti Mandhana delighted after limited-overs' series victory in South Africa

Indian women’s team batter Smriti Mandhana is jubilant following an outstanding performance. The 21-year-old left-handed batswoman participated in India’s limited-overs squad in the Rainbow Nation.

Interestingly, promising opening batter Smriti featured in Mithali Raj-led India in the three-match One-day International series. The visitors clinched the 50-over series 2-1. T20I skipper Harmanpreet Kaur lauded the efforts following riding on magnificent all-round performances.

On the other side, India went on to seal the five-match Twenty20 International series by 3-1. However, on February 21, the fourth T20I match was called off due to an inclement weather.

In three-match ODI series against the Proteas women, Smriti, who hails from Maharastra, struck 135 in Kimberley after smashing 84 in the opener.

“Good Bye South Africa!!Thank you for the memories. A great tour for us clinching both one day as well as T-20 series,” Smriti tweeted with the Women in Blue hashtag.

Known for playing a massive role at the top, Mandhana scored 135 in four T20I outings.

Smriti Mandhana’s International career:

Smriti burst onto the international scene in April 2013 against Bangladesh. There on, she went on to featured in 35 ODIs, 32 T20Is and two Tests for India.

Smriti is averaging 33.88 in 50-over format after scoring 1,152 runs. Prolific with the bat, Smriti smashed three tons and 10 fifties across formats.

The rollicking performance in England in the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup witnessed a massive change. So far, Indian team has knitted well. The World Cup runners-up India would want to continue to dominate in the limited-overs fold.
