Despite losing the second Test at Cape Town, the South Africa Cricket Team set to enter the third Test with the same set of players. They named an unchanged squad for the remainder of the series, which is levelled with 1-1. Peter Malan, who scored a brilliant knock in the second innings at Cape Town, retains his place in the squad.
The young Zubayr Hamza also got the nod from the board while the regulars Dean Elgar, Faf du Plessis, and Quinton de Kock form the lineup alongside Rudi Second and Rassie Van Der Dussen. Temba Bavuma once again gets the green signal alongside Vernon Philander, who played his last home Test at Cape Town.

Dane Paterson will travel to Port Elizabeth;
Andile Phehlukwayo continues in the team alongside Dwaine Pretorius, who had been decent with his performances with the bat and the ball. As usual, the fast bowling department will be led by Kagiso Rabada, who will be assisted by Anrich Nortje and Vernon Philander. Keshav Maharaj is the lonely spinner while Dane Patterson and Beuran Hendricks will be the choices in the fast bowler’s category.
The starting XI from the Newlands Test, along with Dane Paterson will travel to Port Elizabeth, while the rest of the players will remain with their franchise teams to play in the CSA Domestic Four-Day series. The other players will join the national team if and when required.
The series is evenly poised at one-all after the visitors won the New Year’s Test match by 189 runs at Newlands earlier this week. The result followed South Africa’s series-opening victory by 107 runs in the Boxing Day Test at SuperSport Park. Thus, the third Test match at Newlands is going to be an exciting contest for both the teams.
