Former England Cricket team player Kevin Pietersen has slammed Pakistan batsmen calling them weak and pathetic as they continue to struggle against short-pitch deliveries in the ongoing series against South Africa. However, Pakistan bounced back in the first ODI beating hosts by five wickets after 3-0 whitewash in the Test series.

Meanwhile, Pakistan had to pay the price as their batsmen failed to cope up with the bounce on offer from the South African wickets. No Pakistan batsmen have managed to score a century in the three Test matches as they suffered severely.

However, short-pitch deliveries have always been a point of concern for the teams from the subcontinent. But over the years, most of them have overcome this shortcoming with extra hard work. But for Pakistan, it seems like unlikely. Once again their problems regarding bouncers were at the forefront in the second ODI at Durban. Putting into bat first by Proteas skipper Faf-du Plessis, the visitors lost their first wicket within five overs.

Kagiso Rabada bounced Imam-ul-Haq to provide the host with the first breakthrough. Imam looked a bit tentative and nervous from the start, takes on a short ball which rushed onto him as he splices it up in the air and it’s a sitter for Phehlukwayo at mid-wicket.

Enraged by weak batting effort, Kevin Pietersen took a dig at Pakistan’s batting unit. He also called them weak and pathetic for failing to adjust with the bounce despite spending more than a month in the Rainbow Nation.

Pakistan’s 1st wicket falls AGAIN to a short ball… What the hell????!!!! A month in SA and they still cannot play it! Weak & pathetic!” Kevin Pietersen tweeted.
