South Africa vs Pakistan 2019: Proteas Rest Kagiso Rabada For T20I Series

South Africa has decided to rest Kagiso Rabada for the three-match T20I series against Pakistan. Rabada has played continuously for the Proteas and the team is trying to manage the workload of the spearhead. Meanwhile, Kagiso Rabada is currently part of the ODI squad in the ongoing five-match series against Pakistan.

The series is currently tied at 1-1 and the hosts have added the services of Dale Steyn, Quinton de Kock and Buerno Hendricks for the final three matches.

Rabada’s workload is kept in check.

Kagiso Rabada is going to hold the key for South Africa in the upcoming World Cup 2019 slated to be played in England and Wales. Thus, he is rested to keep his workload in check. South Africa will kickstart the tournament against hosts on 30 May 2019 at Kingston Oval.

The third ODI between South Africa and Pakistan will take place at Centurion on January 25. Meanwhile, the three-match T20I series will begin from February 1. Furthermore, South Africa will then take on Sri Lanka in the three-match Test series from February 13. Subsequently, there will be five more ODI matches against Sri Lanka.

Thus, Rabada will like to recharge his batteries and bowl at full cylinders in the upcoming ODI showpiece. Meanwhile, Kagiso Rabada has bowled with fire in the recent past and would like to continue in a similar fashion.

On the other hand, Rabada was the sole South African player who was named in ICC Test team of 2018. Moreover, the fiery fast bowler ended as the highest wicket-getter of the red ball version in the calendar year.

Kagiso Rabada is currently at the numero uno position in the ICC Test rankings and would like to continue his good work for the team.
