Sreesanth Recalls a Moment When Sachin Tendulkar Stood for Him
S Sreesanth, tainted India fast bowler, who is currently serving the ban is participating in a reality show called Big Boss season 12. The aggressive fast bowler shared one of his experiences in the Indian cricket team with the fellow roommate that involves the big name in Sachin Tendulkar.
Gone are those days when the aggressive Keralite Sreesanth ran with an intent to deliver the goods for India in across all formats. However, one controversy changed everything for the flamboyant cricketer. He got banned from playing his favourite sport for his alleged involvement in fixing in the IPL. Meanwhile, Sreesanth is still fighting to get back into the team in all the possible ways.
When Sachin Tendulkar took my name, I cried a lot – Sreesanth
Sreesanth was the part of the Indian team in both major ICC events. He was called as a lucky cricketer for India, who took the catch of Misbah in the final of ICC World Cup 2007. Ironically, he also featured in ICC World Cup 2011 final as well.
In an interview in 2013, Sachin Tendulkar was asked to have a word on the memorable journey. The God of Indian Cricket took the name of Sreesanth saying he also played the major role in India’s success.
”I want to share one incident related to Sachin Tendulkar. 1-2 years after our 2011 World Cup triumph, an interview was going on. The interviewer asked about everyone. 2011 you guys played well taking all players’ names but not mine,” he said.
”When the interview was about to end, Sachin Tendulkar prompted my name saying Sreesanth also played a major role. I cried a lot during that time,” he told his fellow reality show Bigg Boss participant Anup Jalota.
Recalling the moment, the Kerala fast bowler quoted he cried a lot at the time when Sachin Tendulkar remembered his efforts. All in all, it was an emotional episode for the pacer’s fans in the Big Boss.
