Shikhar Dhawan of Punjab Kings (PBKS) lost his wicket after playing 32 balls to Fazalhaq Farooqi against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 70th and final league match of the IPL 2022. This match was only played for pride by the two teams, as they were both eliminated from the race for playoffs.

Kane Williamson had returned to New Zealand for the birth of his child and hence Bhuvneshwar Kumar captained the SRH team in this match. He also won the toss and chose to bat first. SRH made two changes as Romario Shepherd replaced Williamson and J Suchith came in for T Natarajan.

For Punjab Kings, Prerak Mankad made his IPL debut, Shahrukh Khan came in and Nathan Ellis made his second appearance in the tournament.
