Sri Lanka cricket in hot waters, again!!
He will be remanded in custody for the next seven days, as he was one of the prime suspects in financial misappropriation linked with awarding telecast rights to Sony TV.
Speaking of the same, the policeman added they would interrogate the officer before letting out the real culprit. The investigation came to the fore when the International Cricket Council (ICC) has continued to investigate the corruption in the Sri Lankan cricket.

”Sri Lanka Cricket’s (SLC) chief financial officer Wimal Nandika Dissanayake was remanded in custody until Nov. 1 for suspected financial misappropriation linked with awarding telecast rights to Sony TV, police said on Tuesday.
$187,000 had been misappropriated:
Sri Lanka’s chief executive officer, Ashley De Silva lodged the written complaint against Nandika Dissanayake. He cited Nandika had received 15% of fees from Sony Tv to his private account in America when the team travelled to South Africa.

A police spokesperson cited saying that as much as $187,000 had been misappropriated on the South African tour. Ashley came to know it when a top official in Sony TV Channel leaked the information to Ashley de Silva.
Meanwhile, the Sony TV officials or the lawyers of Dissanayake haven’t given any statement on the controversy. It would be interesting to see how the things would pan out in the times to come.
However, the respective Sri Lankan cricket officials are pretty happy to help the government to eradicate the corruption in the respective board. They also linked up with India in eradicating match-fixing as well.
