Sri Lanka Cricketer Shehan Madushanka Detained For Possessing Heroin

Sri Lanka cricketer Shehan Madushanka was detained by their country police for possessing heroin. Shehan Madushanka has been remanded for two weeks by a magistrate. The right-arm fast bowler has featured in a solitary One-Day International (ODI) and two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) for the national team since making his debut against Bangladesh in 2018.

Incidentally, Madushanka had picked up a hat-trick in his debut in Dhaka. But after the series against Bangladesh he has failed to find a place in the limited-overs side for Sri Lanka.

In Sri Lanka, the curfew is still due to be relaxed due to the pandemic situation. The island nation has registered over 1000 cases of Covid-19 with nine deaths and over 650 recoveries.

Madushanka has also featured in 14 first-class matches picking up 20 wickets at an average of 46.55. He has also played 17 T20s scalping 15 wickets at an average of 22.66 with the best bowling figures of three for 20.
