Finally, after a fine time, a Test-playing nation set to visit Pakistan to play a limited-overs bilateral series. It is the same country, which is travelling to Pakistan, who were once the victims of Pakistan terrorists. They are set to travel at the end of the ongoing year to play three ODI and three T20I games.

The Pakistan Cricket Board and Sri Lanka Cricket today announced to swap upcoming matches of the split series in Pakistan, meaning the ODIs and the T20Is will now be played from 27 September to 9 October while the Tests will be held in December.

However, after the checks, it was decided that the Dimuth Karunaratne-led side will only travel to Pakistan for about 10 days to play out the limited-overs series while the two Test matches under ICC World Test Championship will be played in December.

All ODI games will be played in Karachi:

Sri Lanka will play three ODI matches at Karachi’s National Stadium on September 27, 29 and October 2. Three T20Is will take place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on October 5,7 and 9. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka will host Pakistan for two World Test Championships in late December.

Speaking of the announcement, Ehsan Mani quoted that they are very happy with the outcome of the meeting. Further, he went on thank Sri Lanka for visiting Pakistan and also assured that they will be handing the top-class security to the Sri Lankan team.

PCB Chairman Mr Ehsan Mani said: “The PCB is pleased with the outcome of its discussions with Sri Lanka Cricket. It has supported Pakistan in its efforts and endeavours for the complete revival of international cricket. The tour for limited-overs matches will also provide Sri Lanka with an even better understanding of the ground situation before discussing the schedule of the Tests.

All in all, it would be pleasing news for the Pakistan fans to watch International Cricket once again in their home soil. However, it would be interesting to see how Pakistan’s security will tackle the series.
