It was quite a tour for England to Sri Lanka. After a 55-year wait, England managed to bag a clean-sweep victory away from home. Meanwhile, Sanjay Manjrekar, the cricketer-turned-commentator had found something exciting and yelled it out via his social media panel. Indeed, it didn’t sit down well with Ben Stokes, who came up with a perfect retort.

Sanjay Manrekar, in his tweet, quoted the people, who garnish the food will receive high praises than the chefs, who work hard to prepare the delicious dish. He compared those poor chefs to Moeen Ali, Leach and Foakes and then compared Ben Stokes to the one, who garnishes the dish and receives accolades.

Digging into Sanjay’s tweet, it read ”So you have these hard working chefs who have made a great dish. Someone comes and puts a little garnish on top and he gets all the credit. Moeen, Leach, Foakes are those poor chefs and Stokes the one with the garnish.”

Cheers, Sanjay Manjrekar, we play for winning – Ben Stokes

Meanwhile, Ben Stokes replied saying it was all a team effort and none of their players would play for self. Further, he also quoted all the food dishes doesn’t require the garnishing.

”We don’t care about personal credit, and garnish is pointless on all food anyways, we care about winning, it’s a team sport and we won as a team #3-0 Cheers Sanjay,” Ben Stokes tweet read.

All in all, it has been quite a tweet from Sanjay Manjrekar. However, Ben Stokes replied it in a classic way it would ever get. As far as the performance is concerned, Ben Stokes has been brilliant for England, where he chipped in with decent scores with the bat and also bagged wickets as well.

Despite all, the victory for England over Sri Lanka will always remain at the top of the table for England in the Asian conditions. They have displayed a top-class cricket throughout the tour.
