It seems like Sri Lanka wants to make their tough stands on the players’ fitness. They once again left Angelo Mathews for the upcoming one-off T20I game against England. Meanwhile, they have asked Thisara Perera to lead the team in the absence of Angelo Mathews.

They also made quite a few surprising inclusions and exclusions from the squad. Lasith Malinga gets back his ticket to feature in T20I after the tremendous performances in ODI side of late.

Upul Tharanga misses out, Kusal Perera returns:

Meanwhile, they left out Upul Tharanga from the squad thus asking youngsters to showcase their talent. They relied their trust on Niroshan Dickwella once again despite the southpaw’s poor form.

On the other hand, Kusal Mendis also gets the nod once again. Meanwhile, the flamboyant southpaw batsman Kusal Janith Perera returns to the side after suffering an injury in the ODI series

Duhsmantha Chameera finds the place while the good stint in Afghanistan Premier League also made a way for Isuru Udana. Nuwan Pradeep also finds the place in the fast bowling quota.

Dananjaya de Silva and Dasun Shanaka are the certain candidates in the team while Dinesh Chandimal also makes the cut for one-off T20I. It would be interesting to see who the management would pick between Chandimal and Dickwella as the wicketkeeper.

With ODI series already being lost to England, they would like to make a return in the T20I format. After the conclusion of the one-off T20I, both teams will lock horns in the three-match Test series.
