With no doubt, the India opener, Rohit Sharma is one of the most dangerous openers in modern-day cricket. However, for now, he is topping the list of batsmen with the most number of sixes in a calendar year in international cricket.

Meanwhile, while batting in the second T20I game against the Windies, Rohit Sharma achieved the remarkable feat at India’s newest international venue in Lucknow. It was the 36th international match Rohit was playing for his nation in 2018 when he deposited the ball into the stands for a whopping 69th time. By virtue of that hit, it happened to be the most number of sixes by an international cricketer ever in a calendar year.
For now, he has 71 hits to his name. Furthermore, Rohit Sharma also topped the chart in the previous year where he slapped 65 sixes from 32 international games. He also surpassed South African great, AB de Villiers’ record in 2017 where Abd scalped 63 international sixes in 2015.
In addition to, the list also includes Windies Shimron Hetmyer with 47 sixes. After that, Australia’s Aaron Finch holds the third position with 45 while New Zealand’s Colin Munro is at fourth with 42 sixes. England wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow and Indian southpaw Shikhar Dhawan hold the equal number of sixes with 39 hits and had grabbed the fifth position.
