From being visibly upset in the dugout during CSK’s bowling to bursting out in laughter while talking to the on0-field commentators on the sidelines of the ongoing assault on Kings XI Punjab bowling attack by the duo of Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis, Head-Coach Stephen Fleming’s emotions took a completely 360 degree within a space of an hour or so during the encounter against KXIP on Sunday.
The moment arrived when Stephen Fleming was asked by a former Indian cricketer-turned commentator Anjum Chopra about his assessment of the ‘youngsters’ in the side…like Sam Curran.
Ans, Fleming’s reply was epic. He burst into laughter before asking ‘Youngsters in our side’
Meanwhile, the CSK coach was pretty happy with the way the likes of Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis went about their business during the run-chase of 179. The duo, especially Shane Watson, who had come into this game amidst heavy scrutiny due to his poor form, showed clear intent. It was vintage Watson right from the outset and the most pleasing thing to see in his batting was that how he targeted the ‘V’.
While Watson was, well, ‘Vintage Watson’, Faf du Plessis was at his funky best as he dabbed, scooped, cut, swatted the bowling to all corners of the ground. The duo brought up the 100-run-stand in just 10 overs and at the time of writing, CSK were just 37 runs adrift of the target with plenty of balls to spare.
