South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis’ tour of India has started in the worst possible manner. The batsman was left stranded on the airport due to a delay from British Airways. Not a part of the ongoing T20I series, Faf du Plessis is coming to India for the upcoming three-match Test series that will start after the conclusion of the T20Is.

The journey started with a four-hour delay as Faf du Plessis took to Twitter to lash out at British Airways. He also confirmed that he will miss his connecting flight to India due to the delay and that he would be compelled to stay at the airport for ten long hours.

“Finally on a plane to Dubai after a 4 hour delay . Now I’m gonna miss my flight to India, next flight is only 10 hours later… ????? @British_Airways,” wrote Faf du Plessis.

That was not the end of it. A few hours later, du Plessis tweeted that his kit bag was yet to arrive and even went on to term the experience as one of his ‘worst flying experiences’.

“When life gives you lemons , make lemonade .My cricket bag hasn’t arrived !!!!!!!!!! Actually can just smile about it but, wow  @British_Airways today was one of my worst flying experiences where everything went wrong. Now just hoping I’ll have my bats back eventually ?✌?,” he wrote.

Faf du Plessis, nonetheless, will be hoping for a good outing in India. The last time he toured India for a Test series, South Africa were thrashed 3-0. And going by the current form of both the teams, it would not be very surprising if India go on to repeat that performance again.

South Africa’s tour has started on a dismal note with a heavy loss in the second T20I. After the first game was washed out, India thrashed the Proteas by 7 wickets in the second game to take an unassailable lead in the three-match series.
