England’s new-ball bowler Stuart Broad is enjoying one heck of a last few months. The veteran pacer made a telling impact in the Ashes in England in which he took 23 wickets from five Tests. In the ongoing Test against South Africa at the Supersport Park in Centurion, Broad reached the milestone of 400 wickets in the decade and became the second bowler to do so. The 33-year old reached the landmark of 400 Test wickets in the decade by bouncing out the South African skipper Faf Du Plessis for 29 off 80 deliveries. Earlier, Joe Root won the toss and put the hosts into bat first. Stuart Broad, with that wicket, joins his accomplice, James Anderson with 428 scalps. The remaining three in the list are spinners and notable names in Nathan Lyon with 376 wickets, Rangana Herath with 363, and Ravichandran Ashwin with 362.

James Anderson scripts his own pieces of landmarks:

Meanwhile, legendary pacer James Anderson is playing in his 150th Test, having awarded the cap by former English captain Naseer Hussain. The 37-year old provided a breakthrough off the first delivery of the match by sending back Dean Elgar for a duck. The Lancashire bowler became only the fifth bowler to struck off the first delivery of the innings. The other four bowlers include elite speedsters in Suranga Lakmal, Mitchell Starc, and Dale Steyn. Suranga Lakmal achieved it twice in the decade, having taken the first wicket in 2010 and 2017.
