Stuart Broad returned to international cricket reassuring his form and credentials with brilliant bowling display. Broad was overlooked in Southampton with Mark Wood and Jofra Archer being picked up ahead of him. The senior England fast bowler had vent out his frustration and let his feelings know soon after missing the Test.

In absence of Broad, England lost the first Test to allow the West Indies take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. However, spearheading the English pace attack in Manchester, in absence of James Anderson, Broad put on a fine performance for the home team. He picked up three wickets in the first inning which included Jermaine Blackwood, Shamarah Blackwood and Shane Dorwich.

Blackwood, who scored a century in Southampton, was cleaned up for a duck by Stuart Broad. The delivery from Broad angled in to Blackwood with the West Indies batsman finding it unplayable as the ball went on to hit the timber.

Broad returned figures of 3/66 in the first innings as the West Indies were bundled out for 287 runs. Later, returning to bat, England are reeling at 37/2 with a lead of 219 runs intact ahead of the final day.
