England’s vanguard fast bowler Stuart Broad has shared his disappointment after he was left out in the first Test match against the Windies. The visitors were surprised by the Windies as they lost the first match by a gargantuan margin of 381 runs. In fact, England was skittled out for a paltry score of 77 runs in the first innings.

Meanwhile, Stuart Broad was named in the 12-man squad before the first Test match. However, he was told that he is been dropped from the playing XI before the toss took place. On the other hand, England skipper Joe Root also accepted the fact that he and the team management got the selection wrong. Stuart Broad shared his disappointment while writing for Daily Mail.

Broad shares his disappointment.

“I arrived at the ground on Wednesday mentally prepared for the match, having been named in the 12 the previous evening and found out I wasn’t in the team a bit before the toss”.

“Several guys came up to me later, saying they had absolutely no idea that I’d been left out because I’d not shown my disappointment and that’s something I’m quite proud of because I think it’s quite important when you are not picked to concentrate on the 11 that have been”.

Stuart Broad believes he is bowling at the top of his mark. Thus, it was a difficult pill to swallow when he was dropped from the first Test match. Broad has all the experience under his belt and England committed a blunder in benching their veteran bowler.

“Particularly on tour, you have a responsibility to drag nothing away from the group that have a job to do on the field. I felt I kept my disappointment in my own mind and intend to use it as a motivator to get myself ready for the next opportunity”.

It was a difficult pill to swallow.

It is never easy for an experienced bowler when he is left out of the playing XI. Broad has done a fine job for the England team and it was not easy for him to accept the same.

Meanwhile, England will like to turn the tables in the second Test match against the Windies. The hosts came up with a collective performance to obliterate the visitors. The second Tes match will take place at Antigua from 31st January.

Kemar Roach scalped a five-wicket haul in the first innings. Subsequently, Windies captain Jason Holder scored a majestic double hundred. Shane Dowrich also stroked a brilliant hundred. Furthermore, Roston Chase scalped eight wickets in the second innings. The tourists were skittle out for 246 in the second innings.
