A fine career:
Subramaniam Badrinath retired from all forms of cricket in 2018. He was the mainstay of the Tamil Nadu Ranji team for over a decade before moving on to play for other sides including Vidarbha and Hyderabad. The former batsman was the mainstay of the Tamil Nadu sides that reached the Ranji Trophy finals in 2002-03, 2003-04 and 2011-12.
He scored 10,245 first class runs from 145 games at an average of 54.49, including 32 centuries. An elbow injury to Sachin Tendulkar had opened up a spot for an ODI debut for Badrinath against Sri Lanka in 2008 in Dambulla, where he impressed with an unbeaten 27 in a low-scoring match. However, he made only nine international appearances across formats after that. He last played for India in 2011.
He also enjoyed good success with Chennai Super Kings and was an important part of the team that won the IPL in 2010 and 2011. Overall, he played 114 games for CSK between 2008 and 2013, scoring 1667 runs Subramaniam Badrinath also plied his trade for Karaikudi Kaalai in the TNPL before retiring from the game.
