Sunil Gavaskar Reacts to Sachin Tendulkar's Tribute on National Sports Day

The master blaster of India during the non-helmet days of cricket, Sunil Gavaskar has been remembered by the current maestro of India, Sachin Tendulkar.

He showed Sunil Gavaskar as the legendary cricketer with great skills on the occasion of National Sports Day.

Meanwhile, in an interview with India Today, Gavaskar thanked the cricket icon of India. Furtherly, he reciprocated by recollecting a memory between him and Sachin Tendulkar during their playing days.

Sachin Tendulkar, on occasion of the National Sports Day, quoted Sunil Gavaskar as the icon for concentration. He felt that playing Windies bowlers without a helmet needs great guts for any individual.

Despite playing those legendary bowlers, Sunil Gavaskar still maintained an excellent average for India during those days. He finished his tweet saying ”Wow” for his greatness and skills of playing the game.

He wrote ”To me, Sunil Gavaskar is the epitome of unwavering concentration & courage. To step out on the field against a team that was well-known for ferocious pace bowlers and still achieve one of his highest batting averages. All I can say is … Wow!”

Sachin Tendulkar is a fantastic role model – Sunil Gavaskar

Meanwhile, Gavaskar showered words of praise on Sachin Tendulkar. Initially, he thanked Sachin for his sweet words. Later, he mentioned Tendulkar as the role model for any cricket lover. Gavaskar furtherly appreciated Sachin’s charity work.

”Sachin is an ideal role model for the youngsters because of the way he has carried himself on and off the field. His demeanour on and off the field has been absolutely incredible. He had some many pressures on him, a lot of expectations. But, he handled himself terrific which makes him a perfect role model,” Gavaskar said.

”I now see in the second innings of his life, he is doing the charity. These works are terrific and I hope it will give him a great satisfaction and the fulfilment in his second innings of life more than the first innings of his life where he did a lot to Indian cricket and cricket-loving people,” Sunil Gavaskar inferred. 

However, the mutual respect shared by both the players is quite a pleasant sight for either player fans. Meanwhile, as Sunil Gavaskar wished, hopefully, Sachin finds a lot of satisfaction with his charity work.
