The Supreme Court of India on Tuesday (May 15) has asked the Delhi High Court to decide on S. Sreesanth’s Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing plea.

Pertinently, the apex court has given a deadline of July end to the Hight Court in order to come up with a verdict.

Sreesanth was banned for the lifetime by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

However, the Kerala-based fast bowler had filed a case in the apex court of the country. Sreesanth had challenged Kerala High Court’s decision which had upheld the ban on him.

Sreesanth has faced the heat –

The court bench which is headed by Dipak Misra has said that he understands the eagerness of the prominent bowler to play cricket again.

However, Misra added that Sreesanth needs to wait a bit longer before the Delhi High Court serves a decision.

Meanwhile, Sreesanth had sought a temporary solution that he should be allowed to play in England’s County Championship.

The paceman wanted the court to take into account the fact that he was already given a green signal in the IPL spot-fixing case.

Furthermore, Sreesanth is also serving the ban from the last five years.
