Out of favor Indian batsman and a member of the 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy-winning team, Suresh Raina has once again expressed his desire of once again donning the national jersey.
Raina, a veteran of 226 ODIs, 78 T20Is and 18 Test matches, hasn’t played for India since the 2018 England tour and had recently expressed his disappointment on how his case was handled by the MSK Prasad-led selection committee.
The former Indian all-rounder recently engaged with Rohit Sharma in an Instagram Live session where the duo talked about a plethora of things related to their careers and cricket in general.
Rohit said that there have been a lot of discussions in the team that Raina should come back into the set-up but admitted that it is something that is not in their hands. He also asked Raina about his mindset during his time away from the team.

‘I still have a lot of cricket left’- Suresh Raina
Raina revealed that he has been working on all facets of his game, adding that there is still a lot of cricket left in him. He also thanked senior players for supporting him during the bad phase.
“I had an injury and a surgery which was a big reason why I lost my place. I still have a lot of cricket left in me. Selection is not in our hands, performances are. I have always enjoyed my cricket and the big players always backed us when we were young. So that is what we need, someone to support us and show the way.” Suresh Raina told Rohit Sharma.
He added: “I was correcting myself, I regained fitness after a knee injury and in the process, I also passed the yo-yo” test. I put in a lot of hard work to get into the team, big players always supported me during my bad phase and I still have cricket left in me,”
Meanwhile, Raina and former chairman of selectors MSK Prasad have been engaged in a war of words for the past few days. It all started when the left-handed batsman expressed his disappointment at the fact the MSK Prasad-led committee did not have a clear communication with him after he was dropped from the Indian team.
Prasad had hit back at Raina, stating his underperformance at the domestic level was one of the major reasons behind him not getting a recall. He had also added that he had personally spoken to the southpaw, clearly stating him the roadmap of his future comebacks; a claim that Raina has refuted.
