Suresh Raina Out On Six In His Last Game Of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2017/18

Uttar Pradesh skipper, Suresh Raina, was out on six in his last innings of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2017/18.

Raina, who missed a couple of game at the start of the tournament, was playing his second game of the List A tournament.

In the first game, he scored 31 runs and also took one wicket.

This was his last innings of the tournament but he couldn’t do well.

He, along with Jaydev Unadkat and KL Rahul, will fly to South Africa today to join the Indian team for the series T20I series.

It was an opportunity for Raina to warm up well before he flies for the ardent test in South Africa.

The T20I series is a comeback series for him as he was selected in the Indian team after a period of one year.

He played his last international game on February 1 against England at home.

After that, he got dropped from the side due to form and fitness issues.

Though he was one of the five players on the standby list for the ICC Champions Trophy, but, he did not get a chance.

Dinesh Karthik was called to the side when Manish Pandey was ruled out due to an injury.

Raina was in contention to make a comeback for the tour of Sri Lanka but couldn’t make it due to fitness.

He, along with Yuvraj Singh, failed the yo-yo test. He could have made a comeback for Australia series but again, he failed to the test.

Finally, he cleared it last year and was in contention to make a comeback.

Raina scored 314 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which saw him making his comeback to the national team.

He is expected to be included in the playing XI straightaway as team India needs an experienced man in the middle order.

KL Rahul, M. Chinnaswammy Stadium, Bengaluru, South Africa Vs India,

KL Rahul is also expected to get a place in the playing XI.

Jaydev Unadkat will automatically make a place in the playing XI, which would mean that Shardul Thakur might have to wait for his T20I debut.

The three T20Is between India and South Africa will be played on February 18, 21 and 24.
