Suresh Raina Posts A 'Special' Message For Rahul Dravid On His Birthday
Cricket is called the gentlemen’s game, and Rahul Dravid is perhaps the best man to define it, and Suresh Raina’s message for the former India skipper more or less proves it. Dravid turned 45 on Thursday (January 11), and as expected he was flooded with messages.
Suresh Raina also took to Twitter to wish his former India teammate and left a special message for the batting legend. Rightly calling Dravid a thorough gentleman, Raina said getting his Test and ODI cap from Dravid would always be special for him and went on to wish Dravid for the ICC Under-19 World Cup.
“Happy birthday, Rahul Bhai. A thorough gentleman who taught us the meaning of commitment and sacrifices. Getting my ODI and Test caps from you will always hold a special place in my heart.
Hope the boys make you proud in the upcoming U-19 World Cup,” wrote Raina.

Dravid is one of the greatest batsmen in the history of Indian cricket. Fondly called the Wall, Dravid played 164 Test matches and amassed a staggering 13288 runs. He averaged over 52 in the longest format of the game and scored 36 centuries and 63 fifties with the monumental knock of 270 against Pakistan being his highest. Even in the twilight of his career, he was one of the best batsmen in the team. During the disastrous tour of England in 2011 when India where whitewashed 4-0, he amassed 461, including three hundreds.
Despite being labeled a Test specialist, Dravid went on to prove his detractors wrong by becoming one of the few players to cross the 10,000-run mark in ODIs too. He scored 10,889 runs in 344 games with the help of 12 centuries and 83 fifties.
And after bowing out of the game, Dravid is contributing towards the game by imparting his vast wealth of knowledge to the youngsters. The former India batting stalwart is the head coach of India Under-19 and ‘A’ teams and is currently in New Zealand for the Under-19 World Cup.
