Suresh Raina Showers Praise On Former CSK Teammate Ravichandran Ashwin

Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) middle-order batting maestro, Suresh Raina has lauded former teammate Ravichandran Ashwin for his quality bowling skills. Suresh Raina maintained that Ashwin had the captain’s faith in him and Raina always warned his team to be watchful when Ashwin played for the opposition.
Suresh Raina has been with CSK since the inception of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has been the most capped player of the tournament so far. Whereas, Ravichandran Ashwin began his IPL career with CSK in 2009 and played a crucial part in the successful run in the tournament until 2016. When CSK was banned for the 2016 and 2017 season, Ashwin moved to Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) in 2016 and has nor returned to CSK ever since.
Now, Raina has shared his thoughts on Ravichandran Ashwin’s stint with the three-time champions and praised the Indian off-spinner.
Suresh Rains Heaps Praise On Ravichandran Ashwin
Joining an Instagram Live session amid the ongoing coronavirus lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Raina lauded Ashwin and revealed CSK skipper Dhoni always believed in the spinner’s wicket-taking trait. Highlighting the same Raina told Ashwin that he has remained economical while completing his spell in the IPL.
“If you see your powerplay bowling average, it has always been below six, you have always provided us with breakthroughs that’s why MS believed in you,” Raina told Ashwin, news agency ANI reported.

The Yellow-brigade has won the IPL title on three occasions in 2010, 2011, and 2018. Chennai’s all three titles success in the IPL has come under the leadership of Dhoni. The CSK batsman also asserted how he used to prepare his teammates while facing Ashwin, who is known for troubling world-class batsmen with carrom balls.
“When you played for Pune and Punjab, I told my team to be careful against you as you had good carrom balls and they always used to trouble the batsmen,” Raina said during the Instagram Live session.
