Indian middle-order batsman Suresh Raina has praised Team India skipper Virat Kohli for playing a remarkable knock in the ongoing penultimate Test of the three-match Sunfoil Test series while adding Jasprit Bumrah has delivered what the doctor had ordered to throw open this game open at SuperSport Park in Centurion.

The 31-year-old Ghaziabad-based left-handed batsman Raina termed Kohli’s century as a ‘crucial’ which further saw India’s its first innings finished at 307 92. 1 overs – owing to the deficit of 28 runs after South Africa’s 335.

“How good was that century from @imVkohli!! A very crucial one, indeed,” Raina tweeted.

Leader shoulder the responsibility from the front to notch up his 21st Test hundred before he was the last-wicket to fall on his score of 153 deliveries.

The 29-year-old batting mainstay faced 217 balls as his innings was further comprised of 15 boundaries.

On the other side, Raina was in awe of the right-arm unorthodox pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who dismissed opening batsman Aiden Markram and the Proteas batting star Hashim Amla in quick succession.

Both the dismissals came in the form of leg before wickets (lbw) as the ball thudded on the knee roll of Makram before Amla was trapped right on the backfoot.

“And the early double strike from @Jaspritbumrah93 is exactly what the team wanted. The match is wide open, now. What do you all think?,” the other half-of-the-tweet from Raina maintained.

After the 45-run partnership for the sixth wicket alongside Hardik Pandya, Kohli went on to add crucial 71 for the seventh-wicket when Ravichandran Ashwin played a significant cameo of 38 off 54 balls. His crucial innings included seven boundaries.

Talking about Raina, who has been out of the team due to a dip in form, however, has recently cleared the much-hyped Yo-Yo Tests which further saw him practicing hard to earn the national recall.

Interestingly, Raina, who has been retained by the Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings for the IPL 2018, has further played 223 One-day Internationals, 65 Twenty20 Internationals, and 18 Tests while donning the national jersey.

Raina featured in his last international fixture in February 2017 against England at Bengaluru (T20I). Raina played his last ODI against South Africa at Mumbai on October 25.
