Suresh Raina featured for India in 18 Tests, 226 ODIs, and 78 T20Is, having debuted in 2005. The Uttar Pradesh-born cricketer amassed 768,  5615, and 1605 runs respectively while also building his reputation as a terrific fielder. The left-handed batsman’s final international fixture was in July 2018 in Leeds, which was an ODI against England.

Raina’s inconsistency and struggles against short-pitched deliveries meant that India had to look for other options in the middle-order. He was also part of India’s squad that lifted the World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013. MS Dhoni and Raina have played a lot with each other and been part of several match-winning partnerships and been the fulcrum for the yellow army in the IPL.

All I can say is I’m bursting with pride, Immense pride. My heart is just filled with respect & gratitude @ImRaina,”. The 33-year old did not wait in expressing his affection for her.
