Suresh Raina Wishes Shoaib Malik on His 36th Birthday
When you talk about Shoaib Malik, there isn’t a particular thing you will remember because he is one such player who had played almost all roles on a cricket field.
His international career has been spanned over almost a couple of decades. Making his international debut way back in 1999, there had been a pretty few roles which he hadn’t played, even after so many years.
He is a batting all-rounder who started off his career as an off-break bowler. He can play the role of a batsman, bowler and many more roles with some competence and that is the main area of concern.
He had success opening the batting both in Tests and ODI’s. He has been a game changer in the limited-overs format for Pakistan batting at No three position. He has also been a sensational slogger in the ODI’s and have won Pakistan many a game and finished off matches for them.
It was his terrific performance which gave Pakistan a bilateral series win in India after the resumption of the bilateral ties between the two countries, as Malik won the Man of the Series Award for his all-round effort. His career flourished well and he was later made the skipper of the side.
Late Bob Woolmer who was Pakistan’s coach said Malik had the sharpest cricketing brain in the team and was a potential captain in the making.
He also bowls off breaks and has been a valuable bowler for any team he has played so far. In ODI’s, he has bagged 154 wickets while when it comes to the shortest format, he has taken a total of 75 wickets. The all-rounder who is still a part of the Pakistan limited-overs team celebrated his 36th birthday today.
Team India all-rounder, Suresh Raina took to his twitter handle to wish the former Pakistan skipper. He wrote,
“Janamdin Mubarak, @realshoaibmalik. Hope you have a fantastic year ahead. Stay blessed!
Malik was quick to reply as he thanked Raina for his warm gesture.
