Had everything gone fine, we would have witnessed a cricket festival getting underway in India on March 29th at Wankhede Stadium, as Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were scheduled to kickstart the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League.

But, unfortunately, it wasn’t the case, as the Coronavirus hit the world cricket calendar. Meanwhile, the Mumbai opener Suryakumar Yadav expressed how badly he is missing the IPL opener which was scheduled on Sunday (March 29).

Suryakumar Yadav is in the splendid form:

Ahead of the tournament, Suryakumar Yadav was in red hot form in the white-ball leg of domestic cricket and no wonder Yadav like many others was physically in his home but mentally at the iconic Wankhede Stadium where four-time IPL champions would have played CSK in IPL opener.

Sharing his inner feeling out with his fans, Suryakumar Yadav tweeted saying that he is mentally present at Wankhede stadium despite staying at home physically.

His tweet read ”Mentally at Wankhede stadium. But physically at home. This too shall pass. Stay home, stay safe.”

The dashing Mumbai batsman Suryakumar Yadav has also been trying to get into the Indian team for quite some time now and has been sweating it out in the domestic scene and the IPL in the hope of grabbing the eyeballs of the selectors.

And, the IPL 2020 would have been the perfect opportunity for him to get his place in the Indian team. His ability to bat anywhere in the batting order which has been proven in the IPL could be utilised to great effect by the Indian team that has been struggling to find the perfect floater in its middle order after MS Dhoni’s departure.

But, unfortunately, the IPL 2020 got postponed and the reports suggest that the tournament would likely get cancelled this year. Well, it would be interesting to see how things would turn out for him.
