Meanwhile, the Yorkshireman returned from injury to score a century for England in the final Test in Sri Lanka. His knock eventually helped the visitors whitewash Sri Lanka 3-0 in Tests.

Coming to the T10 League, the newest format of the game has seen some high-scoring games with Northern Warriors even making 183 in 10 overs in one match. According to Bairstow, one can challenge the batsmen in the T10 format of cricket.

“In this format, you don’t get many balls to get yourself in, that’s for sure. If you had two dot balls, next one has to go for six. So that’s probably the main difference between T10 cricket and T20 cricket,” said Jonny Bairstow whose was unbeaten 84 was the highest individual score in T10 cricket.

Moreover, the 29-year-old said the modern cricketers had learned the art of changing formats in quick times.

“Of course, it’s different, but that’s what we do. We change formats all the time. But at the end of the day, there is still someone who needs to do the bowling, and you are still batting. The basics don’t change,” Jonny Bairstow added who played a match-winning 110 off 186 balls in the third Test against Sri Lanka in the recent series.

Furthermore, the veteran from England admitted Sharjah cricket stadium has shorter boundaries which help the batsman to hit big shots. He further added it is also easy to score quick runs in a format like T10 cricket.

“I mean this pitch is fantastic. Nice crowd here, obviously being the weekend. The boundaries are quite small, so it’s even better for the batters. I don’t think the bowlers are too happy about that,” Jonny Bairstow concluded.
