T20 World Cup: Sachin Tendulkar Motivates India Women's Team Before Final

India will be bidding for their maiden women’s T20 World Cup in the final against Australia on Sunday. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side reached the final via their better group stage result after the semi-final against England was washed off.

It will be a tough ask for India in the summit clash, even though they are unbeaten in the tournament, as they will face the defending champions Australia. The Aussies are the most successful team in the T20 World Cup — with 4 titles — but have been beaten by India in the inaugural contest.

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has send some words of inspiration for the India women’s cricket team ahead of the final. The batting maestro wants them to give their best without taking any pressure.

Tendulkar, who has immense experience of playing at big stages, however said that it is easier said than done.

”Go out and give your best. And that is what my message to them is. Don’t take any pressure, though it is easier said than done,” Sachin Tendulkar said.

Playing in a final is all about nerves. There will be pressure. The whole world will be witnessing the contest unfold and all eyes will be glued to the television sets, come this Sunday.

But for the women-in-blue, Tendulkar feels it is necessary for them to stay by each other and talk positive things, whenever they get a chance. He also said the Indian women team have inspired many youngsters during their course of play in the T20 World Cup.

”I want to tell them that they just stay together. You don’t need to spend time with the outer world. If you are in a company with each other and keep talking positive things, because good things have happened to our team.”
