The match between the Kangaroos and hosts Zimbabwe might have been a dead rubber, but it turned out to be a thrilling affair. On a surface which posed several challenges to the batsmen, it was a stunning bowling display from Andrew Tye which stole the show.
Batting first, Zimbabwe did moderately well to get to 151-9, with opener Solomon Mire carrying on his good form with a fine half-century. Tye was the pick of the bowlers, as he picked up three wickets.

While doing so, Tye became just the second bowler to take three wickets in four consecutive T20I’s. The first bowler to do so was Sri Lanka’s spin sensation, Ajanta Mendis.
The leading wicket-taker of the 2018 IPL was elated on being named the Man of the Match after Australia got home with just one ball to spare.
“I have been working on trying to take a wicket at crucial times. I have been pretty lucky in the series picking up wickets at the death,” said Tye, in the post-match presentation.

Adding he was looking up for the final against Pakistan on Sunday, Tye said,
“I try to mix the rhythm up by changing the pace. The energy within the group is really gearing up towards the final.”
Skipper Aaron Finch was delighted with the win but lauded Zimbabwe for putting on a competitive show.
“They bowled well towards the end. We probably made it more difficult than we had to. It’s important to get some time in the middle. If we can polish up a few areas in all three facets, we will be in a good position,” said Finch.
