With the introduction of T20I cricket, the batsmen have become a lot of more fearless in terms of their approach towards batting. That’s evident not just in the shortest format, but in ODIs as well. Terms such as textbook technique, patience, and early caution have gone out of the window.

Those, who have the ability to hit big sixes, at will, reign supreme in the sport nowadays. Throughout history, there have been some batsmen who were renowned for their gung-ho approach, coming out all guns blazing, having just one motive, to clear the fence.

With that said, today, we will look at some of the top six-hitters of the game, albeit, only those who are still around.

Here are the top ten active batsmen with most sixes in ODIs:

10) Marlon Samuels (West Indies) – 118

West Indian batsman Marlon Samuels stands at the tenth spot for the most sixes in ODIs. Marlon Samuels is one of the best middle-order batsmen produced by the Caribbean; however, due to getting involved in leaking match-related information in 2006, his career was shortened.

In 207 ODIs, the Jamaican mustered 118 sixes alongside ten centuries and 30 fifties. The veteran also scored 5606 runs, averaging 32.97. Samuels played two of the most significant innings in West Indies’ two T20 World Cup victories in 2012 and 2016. However, the 39-year old could not do the same in ODI World Cups for the West Indies.
