The Women’s game have gained a lot of mileage in recent years mainly after the massive success of the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup. And when beauty meets the brain, it becomes more intensifying. While the men continue to throb the cricketing hearts with their swagger and style, the women cricketers certainly don’t stand near the women’s when it comes to enthralling the fans with their beauty.

SMRITI MANDHANA

Smriti Mandhana is arguably the best batwomen of the current generation. She has been in sublime form and recently bagged the CEAT Women’s Cricketer of the Year Award.

So far, Mandhana has represented India in 50 ODI and 58 T20Is respectively scoring 1951 and 1298 runs respectively including four centuries in total. India have found a replacement of Mithali Raj in Mandhana who cover drives are a treat to watch for the cricket lovers.

Meg Lanning made her debut in 2011 against England, and in only her second game, she scored an unbeaten 103, becoming at 18 years and 288 days old the youngest Australian – male or female – to score an international century. A year later, in an ODI against New Zealand, she broke the record for the fastest century by an Australian, racking up her ton in a mere 45 balls.

In 2014, Lanning became the youngest Australian to lead the country at the age of 21. The 27-year-old has 3273 ODI, and 2315 T20I runs from 72 and 85 matches respectively. In 2015, Lanning became Wisden’s inaugural Leading Female Cricketer in the World.

DANE VAN NIEKERK

A spinning all-rounder, Dane van Niekerk made her international debut for South Africa at the 2009 World Cup in Australia. However, it was only in 2015 when she came up the ranks to be one of the prominent Proteas players.

Van Niekerk took over the leadership baton from long-standing skipper Mignon du Preez when she decided to step down in June 2016. With 99 ODIs and 76 T20Is to his name, van Niekerk is one of the best all-rounders in the business.

ELLYSE PERRY

Ellyse Perry is the only Australian cricketer who has represented her country in both cricket and football. Perry is the youngest to represent Australia in cricket and is also the first Australian woman to have appeared in both cricket and football World Cups.

The all-rounder has represented Australian Women’s cricket team in 7 tests, 107 ODIs and 102 T20Is and has scored a hundred and 29 half-centuries with the bat and claimed 264 wickets with the ball in all formats combined. Perry represents New South Wales Women in the domestic circuit.

SARAH TAYLOR

One of the most naturally talented players England have produced, Sarah Taylor burst on to the scene in 2006 with a run-a-ball 61 in her fourth ODI against India and a maiden century followed early the next year against Australia in Chennai.

Incredible behind the stumps, Taylor has represented England in 121 ODIs, 89 T20Is, and nine Tests. She was part of the England sides which won the World Cup and World T20 double in 2009 and has played in five Ashes contests.

SANA MIR

A veteran cricketer from Pakistan, Sana Mir has impressed with her gentle off-spin and can also chip in with the bat in the lower-order. Sana has represented her country in 118 ODIs and 105 T20Is claiming 147 and 88 wickets respectively.

She has also led Pakistan to two Gold Medals in Asian Games in 2010 and 2014. Sana is a fan’s favourite, and often her acts in the cricket field have drawn praise from all over the globe.

HOLLY FERLING

A right-arm fast bowler, Holly Ferling made her debut for Australia in 2013. She played four matches in 2013 Women’s Cricket World Cup and scalped nine wickets at an average of 10.55. She then became the first woman to be named as the Queensland Junior Cricketer of the Year.

So far, Ferling has played for Australia in three Tests, 22 ODIs, and nine T20Is picking three, 24 and five wickets respectively. The 23-year-old was the 12th man in ICC Team of the Year for the 2013 Women’s World Cup.

ISHA GUHA

Isha Guha made her international debut for England in 2001. She was part of the England squad that won the World Cup and the World T20 in 2009 and played a significant role during those two major cricketing events.

Guha has 101 ODI and 28 Tests wickets to her name, making her one of the best English bowlers. She announced retirement from international cricket on March 9, 2012. Guha is now a cricketer-turned commentator and is currently busy with the ICC World Cup 2019.

Laura Marsh began her career as a medium-pace seamer and was called into the England side in 2006 to make her debut against India. However, a handful of injuries forced her to reinvent herself as an off-spinner.

She went on to feature prominently in England’s 2009 World Twenty20 victory, opening the bowling and taking 6 for 68 across the tournament. A career filled with injuries, Marsh has represented England in eight Tests, 98 ODIs, and 65 T20Is across her career.

KATHERINE BRUNT

A skiddy fast bowler, Katherine Brunt represented Yorkshire in the age-group cricket before making her debut for England in 2004. Brunt has been a part of various England’s World Cup-winning team and is one of their highest wicket-taker.

Brunt so far played 11 Tests, 116 ODIs, and 68 T20Is picking 39, 144, and 68 wickets respectively. She is also an able scorer at the lower order which has provided England with batting depth over the years.
