As if on Hashim Amla was not enough, Bangladesh witnessed two Hashim Amlas coming out to bat in the first T20 International. Bangladesh managed to get rid of the right-handed Amla cheaply but by the time they got rid of the left-handed Amla, the damage was pretty much done.

Well, before you let your vivid imagination speculate different things let us tell you that it was Quinton de Kock in an Amla shirt and the reason behind it is pretty baffling. Apparently one fan had broken into the Mangaung Oval changing rooms the night before the match and stole the de Kock jersey. The teams keep the jerseys in the dressing room a day prior to the game and by the time de Kock realised it, it was too late and he had no option but to wear his opening partner’s jersey.

The change in jersey, meanwhile, did not affect de Kock’s form as he top-scored for the Proteas to guide them to a comfortable 20-run win over Bangladesh.

The left-handed batsman scored 59 off 44 with the help of 5 fours and one six as South Africa put up a daunting total of 195 for 4 in the allotted 50 overs.

In reply, Bangladesh were well placed after the 9th over with the scoreboard reading 92 for 2. However, once Soumya Sarkar was dismissed, the visitors lost track of the chase and were eventually restricted to 175 for 9.
