TNPL 2018: Madurai Panthers Trounce Ruby Trichy Warriors By Five Wickets

After winning the toss, Ruby Trichy Warriors decided to bat first against Madurai Panthers. Moreover, the 19th match of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) took place in Tirunelveli.

While batting first, the Trichy Warriors posted a total of 176 on board for the loss of four wickets. Tirchy managed to get 75 off last six overs which let them post an above-par score.
Trichy got off to an excellent start courtesy openers. Bharath Shankar and Mani Bharathi provide an opening partnership of fifty runs.
So, Shankar scored 29 off 23 balls while as Mani scored 33 runs from 29 balls. Madurai’s Rahil Shah picked three wickets in three overs to stem the flow of runs.
Initially, Suresh Kumar and Sathiamoorty Saravanan took time to settle themselves. After then it was a full carnage from the duo. The duo put a fourth-wicket partnership of 92 runs in 50 balls.
With a strike rate of 161, Suresh Kumar scored a brutal knock of 42 off 26 balls.
On the other hand, Saravanan notched up his fifty in the penultimate ball of the final over. Ruby slammed last over for 21 owing to the sloppy fielding of Panthers.

While chasing a mount score of 176, Panthers lost their skipper, D Rohit on the team score of 19 runs. Arun Karthik and Thalaivan Sargunam held the ship of Panthers. The duo added a 108-run partnership for the second wicket.
Sargunam played a crucial knock of 70 off 36 balls. With a strike rate around 195, he slammed five fours and six gigantic sixes.
The opening batsman, Karthik, on the other hand, played another crucial knock for his team. With a strike rate of around 180, Karthik scored unbeaten 80 runs off 45 balls with five sixes and the same number of boundaries.
Madurai Panthers got a comprehensive victory by five wickets with ten balls to spare against Ruby Trichy Warriors in the TNPL fixture. Karthik won the Man of the Match title for his blistering performance.
