Tom Curran's Fifer Guides England to Seal the Series 4-1

A spirited England team hold nerves, in the end, to beat host Australia by 12 runs to win the Gillette ODI series 4-1 at historic opening of the new Stadium at Perth.
Significant contributions from the top four England batsmen helped England go past 250 after Australian skipper Steven Smith won the toss and elected to bowl on an unknown drop-in wicket. The opening pair of Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow added 71 runs before Roy holed out to Andrew Tye one short of his fifty. Tye registered his maiden five-wicket haul as he finished 5/46.
Alex Hales then joined Bairstow (44), who played his free-flowing game as England went past 100 but was soon cleaned off by Mitchell Starc. Joe Root went past 50 picking up gaps and manoeuvring the field as his knock included only two boundaries. However, some tight bowling during death over helped Australia restrict England to 259 at the halfway mark.
Australia was once again hurt by failures from their star batsmen; however, all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, who was promoted up the order gave a valiant fight. Marcus Stoinis’ 87 from 99 balls and Glenn Maxwell’s 34 from 39 seemed to put the hosts back on course, but they lost wickets at crucial moments, and ultimately that was fatal.
Australia was striving at 192/7 losing Stoinis, Maxwell, and Mitchell Starc in quick succession. Paine, along with Andrew Tye (8) and Adam Zampa (11) clawed the hosts ever-closer, but Tom Curran held his nerves to remove Paine to complete his fifer.
Here is how Twitter reacted after England thrash Australia 4-1:
