Indian Premier League (IPL) comes with plenty of fun and frolics. And while every franchise plays to bring home the IPL trophy there are some other prizes as well to motivate the players. The top run-scorer of IPL takes home the orange cap while the purple cap belongs to the player with most wickets.

Let us have a look at the top five bowlers with the most wickets in an IPL season:

Premier India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was once again a success story for Mumbai Indians. With his unplayable yorkers and slower ones on show, Bumrah picked up 27 wickets, with the best bowling figures of 4/14 in the IPL 2020.

Australia all-rounder James Faulkner can add value to any side. He has the knack of picking up wickets with his deliveries and can also score crucial runs for his franchise. Faulkner has the ability to slog the balls when batting lower down the order. With the ball, his best performance came in 2013, when he picked up 28 wickets with the best bowling figures of five for 16.

Lasith Malinga – IPL 2011

Lasith Malinga has been the most successful overseas bowler in the IPL. Though as he has continued to age, there has been a certain dip in his form. He has served the Mumbai Indians franchise from the fore and yield results for them. The franchise has also on their part backed the veteran fast bowler. Malinga delivered his best IPL performance in 2011 when he picked up 28 wickets in a season at an average of 13.39.

Kagiso Rabada was at the top of his game in the IPL 2020 for Delhi Capitals. He was also well supported by Anrich Nortje. Rabada was crucial for Delhi Capitals as he removed the dangerous batsmen from the opposition side early to give his side a good start. Rabada finished the IPL 2020 campaign with 30 wickets to his name.

Dwayne Bravo – IPL 2013

Dwayne Bravo has provided a number of credible performance for CSK with the bat and ball. He recently picked up his 500th wicket in the shortest format where he has been a major success. Interestingly, Bravo also holds the record for most wickets in a single IPL season. He picked up 32 wickets in IPL 2013 at an average of 15.53 with the best bowling figures of 4/42.
