Sarfraz Nawaz Urges PM Imran Khan to Take Action Against Pakistan Team and Management:

Former Pakistan fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz had blasted Pakistan team for their ‘pathetic’ and ‘below average’ show at the twelfth edition of the ICC World Cup 2019.
Nawaz had further urged Pakistan PM Imran Khan, who is also the patron of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that he should take strict action against players and team management post their World Cup failure.

He also reiterated that they should have made it to the semi-final on its own rather than looking at other teams for the results.
Smriti Mandhana Bags Arjuna Award:
On Wednesday (July 17), the prominent Team India women’s batter Smriti Mandhana was conferred with Arjuna award by Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju. The ceremony was held in New Delhi.
The 22-year-old Smriti is topping the ODI charts following a spectacular run in the 50-over fold.
In 2018, Smriti had accumulated 669 runs in just 12 outings. Also, she had amassed 622 runs in 25 T20Is.
Shreyas Iyer Reckons That he ‘Deserve’ a Chance in Team India:

Young batsman Shreyas Iyer, who is partaking in the India A side which is concurrently facing the Windies, believes he deserves a change in the Team India.
The compact batsman had impressed one and all with his batting. The right-handed batsman Iyer, he recently scored 77 against Windies A. Thereon, he scored 47 in the third unofficial ODI on the Caribbean tour.
He further reiterated that his India ‘A’ performance should be taken into consideration. He also maintained that he aims to improve after every passing season.
KKR Ropes in World Cup-winning coach Trevor Bayliss: Reports

After Jacques Kallis, part ways with two-time IPL winning champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had roped in England’s World Cup-winning coach Trevor Bayliss as the chief coach, reports suggested.
Also, former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum will serve as an assistant for Bayliss for the 13th edition of the IPL.
ECB Announced Squad for the Maiden Ireland Test Match:

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday (July 17) had announced a 13-member squad for the inaugural Specsavers Ireland Test match at Lord’s.
